GIRTON, Edith Rogers - Putnam

Edith Rogers Girton, 86, Fillmore, formerly of Indianapolis died Tuesday. She was a homemaker. A 50-year-member of the Fillmore Chapter of Eastern Star, Mrs. Girton was also a past noble grand and secretary of Fillmore Rebekah Lodge. She was a charter member of West Marion Home Extension Club. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle with calling until 8 tonight. Burial will be in Fillmore Cemetery. She was the widow of Eugene P. Girton.  Survivors: sons Richard, Fred Girton; daughter Middy Phillips; sisters, Flossie Alexander, Ruth Bullerdick, Bernice Powers; three grandchildren, four great grandchildren. - kbz
